Brent Lang

Brent D. Lang is a business advisor, mentor, board member, philanthropist, and Olympic gold medalist. He also is the former Chair and CEO of Vocera Communications, a public company based in the Silicon Valley until it was acquired by Stryker in February 2022. Currently, Brent is on the board of Outset Medical (NASDAQ:OM), a medical technology company engaged in the development of a hemodialysis systems for acute and home environments. He is also Chair of the Board at Eko Health, where he advises on strategic initiatives to advance cardiac and pulmonary care through cutting-edge digital tools, supporting clinicians in delivering earlier, more accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes. Brent is a director on the board of Thriveworks, a private equity-backed provider of in-person and online counseling, therapy, and psychiatry services that help people live happy and successful lives.

He is also Chair of the board of directors of Movella, a pioneer in the sensing, capturing, and analysis of motion data, and transforming it into meaningful and actionable insights for customers in entertainment, sports, health, and industrial markets. A long-time leader and athlete, Brent served as an independent director and the treasurer for the USA Gymnastics Board of Directors. From June 2018 to February 2022, Brent was chairman and CEO of Vocera, a global leader in clinical communication and workflow solutions. Brent served as the president and CEO, and as a board member of Vocera from June 2013 to June 2018. As President and CEO, Brent grew the company into a healthy, diverse, and growing business with revenue of more than $230 million per year.  Brent’s innovative leadership style and personal accomplishments have earned him several accolades, including the CEO World Award in 2014, the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award in 2015, and a finalist spot for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award in 2016 in the Northern California Region.
