Diya Wynn
Diya leads the Responsible AI practice at AWS, focused on helping customers bridge principles to practice. This team’s work includes operationalizing standards for responsible use of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and data. Diya’s work in leading the Responsible AI team led to the formation of AWS Ratio – the responsible AI framework used at AWS to provide a consistent, structured way to guide customers through the areas they need to focus on to mitigate risk, reduce unintended impact and harm, and build inclusively. The structure has served as a key way to provide customer guidance, best practices, and support for building AI/ML-driven products responsibility.
Diya has been a speaker for MIT EmTech Digital, Young Women in AI, Women in AI, Women in Tech Summit, Women in CyberSecurity, DataEthics4All, International Institute For Analytics, Richmond Technology Council, XAI Conference 2021, Datapalooza & National Health Policy Conference, eHealth Conference, Future of Technology Summit, Integrating Women Leaders First African-American presenter at IT Weekend 2018 in Ukraine, and the United Nations General Assembly 2020. She’s been a guest lecturer on Responsible AI/AI Ethics at Business School of AI, The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, Morehouse College, School of Continuing Studies (repeat lecturer), Data Science Camp Inc (training high school students), and Bowie State University.
Diya studied Computer Science at Spelman College, the Management of Technology at New York University, and AI & Ethics at MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard University Professional School.
