Anjali Devadasan
Anjali is the Founder and CEO of Treeva: generating renewable energy from passing transport. With family affected by disastrous floods in Kerala, she is determined to prevent future disasters by reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. Her background is in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial, with experience working on Rolls-Royce’s sustainable jet engines for 2050 and previously working on an Iron Man suit.
Transport companies are struggling to meet their net zero goals and have the highest reliance on fossil fuels of any sector, all while rising electricity demands increase the risks of blackouts and brownouts. Anjali makes use of her experience working on jet turbines and Materials Science and Engineering to deliver a solution through Treeva. Treeva has gained recognition through awards such as winning the University Start-up World Cup with Venture Cup Denmark, and Anjali has recently been a finalist for both the TargetJobs Female Undergraduate of the Year and Verizon/Unloc Young Entrepreneur’s Challenge. Beyond her sustainability focus, she is motivated to increase diversity and encourage students of any and all backgrounds to pursue what they enjoy.
