Clifford Hoglonou

Growing up in a rural community in Togo, Clifford P. Hoglonou witnessed firsthand the challenges of deforestation, rural poverty, and energy scarcity. After a devastating market fire destroyed his family’s ethanol business warehouse, he transformed this setback into an opportunity for positive change. Completing his studies in Economics Science & Management at the University of Lome, he founded Alcoford Corporation after gaining seven years of experience in various relevant fields in SMEs. This inspired his commitment to developing innovative, circular economy models that valorize cassava starch and biomass, producing ethanol and green electricity. Under his leadership, Alcoford Corporation has grown from a family initiative to a significant player in the ethanol sector in his community, empowering smallholder farmers, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Clifford’s dedication to fostering economic development and environmental sustainability continues to drive Alcoford’s mission and vision forward.
