After receiving her doctorate in Biology, Hajer served as a research professor at the Children’s Hospital of Tunis supervising dozens of students. A scientific researcher, she managed a team of researchers and technicians, which allowed her to publish more than twenty articles in international journals. She also taught genomics in the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis and sports genetics at ISSEP (the Higher Institute of Sport and Physical education). In February 2019, she resigned and founded Agritable, a fair trade brand and startup, that sells products online directly from producer to consumer. In her spare time, she serves as president of the Association Sportive Féminine, which mentors disadvantaged girls through sport. She is passionate about cooking, ecology, and practices walking and transcendental meditation.
