An 18-year experienced healthcare executive, Kim Smith’s passion for maternal and child health sparked in 2012 after the loss of her daughter due to a life-threatening hypertensive disorder of pregnancy. With a mission to leverage innovation to help reverse the growing disparities, Kim left her executive role in 2022 to build community-driven solutions for women with the launch of Health Evolve Technologies. She started with a blank sketchpad. Within 18 months, Kim and her team were able to research, develop, test and pilot the Lauren Digital Health Platform for birthing women at risk for hypertension, diabetes, and chronic stress. Equipped with a solid product-market fit, Kim is forging ahead with an evidence-based health-at-home model that has the potential to extend well into menopause. As a female health tech founder, she remains committed to improving the short- and long-term heart health of reproductive-aged women globally.
