Marwen Mokdad

Marwen Mokdad is a biological engineer and entrepreneur from Tunisia who has always been passionate about marine biology and biotechnology, and over the years, he has built his career around that passion. After getting his National Engineering Degree in Biological Engineering and his Applied License in Medical Biology, Marwen started out working in medical labs and hospitals, focusing on blood analysis and public health. However, Marwen quickly realized that he wanted to build something of his own. Today, he runs Tunisia Baits, a marine worm farm where he developed the production protocols, manages the team, handles R&D, and even consults on setting up farms in Morocco and Egypt. Marwen also manages Ste Appâts de Méditerranée, where they specialize in exporting live fishing bait. He’s involved in everything from sourcing materials to making sure their products meet the highest quality standards for export. Throughout his founder journey, Marwen has been lucky to win several entrepreneurship competitions including Top 15 world innovators for Regenerative Blue Economy, Minbar, BloomMasters, and Souk At-tanmia, and has also been a finalist in innovation contests such as Univenture and Mediterranean Net-Kite.
