
Nneile Nkholise
Nneile Nkholise is a South African mechanical engineer and social entrepreneur renowned for leveraging technology to address critical challenges in the healthcare, agriculture, and building sectors. Originally from South Africa, she received a Bachelor of Science at the University of Witwatersrand and a MEng Mechanical Engineering at the Central University of Technology. Nneile began her professional journey in 2011 as a mechanical engineer with the Free State’s Public Works Department. In 2015, she founded iMed Tech, a biotech company specializing in custom-made medical solutions using CAD and additive manufacturing techniques. The company focuses on producing prosthetics for breast cancer survivors and burn victims, aiming to become a leader in medical prosthetics, including the development of internal organs. In 2018, she co-founded 3DIMO, a venture-backed company that automates livestock data analytics to monitor animal health. The platform provides farmers with digital tools to track vaccinations, movement, and inventory, enhancing livestock management across the continent. Further expanding her entrepreneurial impact, Nkholise founded Thola Inc. in 2021, an industrial AI company that automates fault detection in industrial buildings and helps improve operational efficiency.
