Patrick Karekezi

Patrick Karekezi is a development strategist, youth advocate and researcher. He serves as the Partnerships Manager at Wastezon, galvanizing efforts to realize a waste-free world. As a youth advocate at the United Nations, Patrick has engaged with diplomats on how best we can support developing countries in building more just, peaceful and sustainable communities.

Leveraging his experiences in the domains of business development, research, policy advocacy, and youth development, he founded the Youth Spotlight Program— a youth-led initiative seeking to equip a million young people with entrepreneurial skills and mindsets by 2035. Patrick holds a degree in Global Challenges from the African Leadership University. He is also an incoming Schwarzman scholar at Tsinghua university, where he will pursue a master’s in Global Affairs.
