Prathyusha Potharaju

Prathyusha Potharaju is the Co-Founder and product lead of Vision Nanny at Grailmaker Innovations, an Indian startup dedicated to developing accessible and effective assistive technology. Inspired by her personal experiences with dyslexia, Prathyusha spearheads the development of Vision Nanny, a SaaS platform providing digital interventions for Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), the leading cause of childhood blindness.

With a master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology from IIT Hyderabad, Prathyusha’s academic focus on enhancing neuroplasticity through biomolecular changes laid the foundation for her current work. Her passion for bridging research and healthcare led her to pursue a Social Innovation Fellowship under the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council. During this fellowship, she studied the lack of healthcare access in remote parts of India, including indigenous communities, and explored potential solutions.

At Vision Nanny, Prathyusha integrates cutting-edge research into practical solutions while nurturing a community of parents and caregivers of children with CVI. Her research work alongside vision rehabilitation experts at LV Prasad Eye Institute’s Early Intervention Unit provides valuable insights, helping to include clinic-based, research-backed activities in Vision Nanny. Her leadership and innovative approach has garnered awards and recognition such as IKMC runner up for best startup and invited guest speaker at the National Brain Research Centre. Her work has been featured on several media platforms, including ‘Nenu Super Women’ on Aha and Better India. Her contributions have been highlighted in Paths to Literacy and various disability-focused channels, amplifying her advocacy for CVI awareness and showcasing the significance of her team’s work.
