Shirita Turner

Shirita Turner is the CEO and Founder of Inclusive Work Solutions LLC, a female, minority-owned business in Washington, DC. Shirita founded the company from her passion for inclusion and the dignity found in work. Her mission is to provide District of Columbia residents with high paying employment opportunities designed to ensure that the workforce in the District of Columbia is diverse, equitable and inclusive.

A native of California, Shirita moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Business Management. She later earned a master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of the District of Columbia with an emphasis in Public Management. While at Howard University, Shirita was actively involved as a Student Ambassador, and contributor to the Howard University Hilltop Publication. As a Communications major, she was a recipient of the Larry King Journalism Scholarship Award and was honored to Intern at Black Entertainment Televisions’ Teen Summit. In graduate school, Shirita received a Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Graduate Fellowship. She has also worked with the United States Office of Personnel Management’ s Office of Diversity and Inclusion on key program initiatives that were designed to promote inclusion within Federal government agencies.

Shirita’s educational background and life experiences have fueled her passion for inclusion and equity in the workforce. Her mission is to serve as a catalyst that will assist companies and government agencies in transforming workplace cultures. The key focus of Inclusive Work Solutions LLC is to hire DC residents to ensure that inclusion, diversity, and equity is practiced and achieved in our nation’s capital.
