Born in Virginia but raised mostly in South Korea before college, Taein Lee experienced various cultures and adapted to new environments most of his life. He was mesmerized when learning of the deep impact materials have on human civilization, to the point that human eras are divided based on the materials that have been harnessed. Since then, Taein has pursued ways to make an impact on the world with next generation materials technology. He accordingly graduated with a Bachelors and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from JHU with a focus on controlling materials properties of hybrid organic-inorganic materials via processing methods and subsequent materials analysis/testing techniques. Dedicated to making a positive impact with this experience, Taein has gathered co-founders and has been developing sustainable plant-integrated construction materials technology for a future of sustainable human habitats in harmony with nature.
