A bold new vision—and home—for Halcyon

by Dan Barker

For over a decade, Halcyon has been proud to call historic Georgetown home. Halcyon itself was incubated in the inspirational space that is Halcyon House, and over the last 11 years, the location has cultivated a generation of leaders and supported hundreds of ventures that are making a positive impact on the world. Steeped in history and legacy, it has been a haven for big risks and bold ideas.

In that time, Halcyon has grown and evolved significantly. The Halcyon team has listened and learned alongside its entrepreneurs, growing into a global organization that supports ventures across key geographies in the United States, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the globe. Our alumni network has expanded to more than 600 founders and 400 ventures across 51 countries. It’s a growing and dynamic community of innovators and changemakers.

Since our founding in 2014, we have worked closely with purpose-driven founders to address social and environmental challenges, narrowing our focus on areas where we can have the most impact: Climate, Health, and EquityTech.

We are incredibly grateful to our Co-Founder, Dr. Sachiko Kuno, for her generosity and foresight in establishing Halcyon House as a place where social entrepreneurs could grow personally and professionally.

A New Home in the Heart of DC

Earlier this year, we shared our plans to relocate from our Georgetown headquarters to a more centrally located office in DC in early 2026 that builds on our trajectory as a national and global accelerator.

After a thorough search and review of more than 30 locations, we are pleased to share that we are moving to 1100 15th Street NW beginning January 12, 2026, situated in a WeWork space. Critically, Halcyon’s new location in DC will allow us to continue to provide space for alumni to work and to convene our broader community. We are also exploring ways to leverage other spaces for events in cities where we run our programs.

Our new headquarters places Halcyon at the center of DC’s vibrant startup community in a state-of-the-art facility that is metro accessible, ADA compliant, and more flexible for our evolving programming.

Making a Global Impact

While Halcyon started with residential fellowships, we have responded to the shifting needs of founders who are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of their ventures around the world. We support proximate founders—those who are closest to the problems they are solving—and we are responding with programming that is adaptable and flexible to their needs.

This era demands more than a haven—Halcyon’s founders are engaging on the biggest issues of our time. We meet them where they are, providing a launchpad for founders to hone product-market fit, refine capital strategy, and develop leadership strategies to advance from founders to CEOs.

Beginning in 2026, all of Halcyon’s fellowships will be hybrid, with in-person residencies at the beginning and end of each program and virtual programming occurring between. Scheduled programs include:

  • Climate Resilience & Food Security in Africa Fellowship
  • LAC Climate Fellowship
  • Global EquityTech Fellowship
  • Global Climate Adaptation Fellowship
  • Climate Innovation in the Caribbean Fellowship
  • Climate Innovation in Mexico Fellowship
  • US Health Fellowship

Halcyon has always been about community, and that community has always been local, national, and global. As we take our programs to more than 10 cities in 2026, we look forward to convening our network of changemakers in DC and beyond, building stronger bonds and connections.

In the new year, you’ll hear more from us about our renewed vision and approach for creating a thriving ecosystem for impact-driven startups. Stay tuned for more.
