Julius Tumwine is a computer scientist and the co-founder and director of the software division at GENLAB Solutions International Limited. Julius is motivated by an entrepreneurial and constructive impulse, which led to the conception and development of MutHub. MutHub is a disease genomics technology that allows massive data from bacterial DNA and viral RNA to be translated into precision medicine and public health in Africa. GENLAB Solutions International Ltd is the exclusive owner of the product. Julius loves challenges that have the potential of changing the way things are done and has been actively involved in the software development of LabXpert used in Uganda and South Sudan. In Uganda, LabXpert is a GeneXpert connectivity system that automatically sends TB and COVID-19 data from several diagnostic platforms in real-time, including HPV, HIV diagnosis, and viral load. When Julius is not working, he is playing the guitar and piano.
