Kathryn is a long-time educator, primarily teaching 7th – 12th grade math in public and private schools before shifting to professional development, instructional coaching, and work-based learning. Her entire professional career has been based in Baltimore and D.C. Kathryn created the GoPursue App after two defining experiences: struggling to find the right career and professional network that fit her and watching the same career-decision problems passed on from generation to generation. She believes seeing a direct connection between school and careers can dramatically improve academic engagement and performance, so she is building an app to bridge the disconnect. Kathryn earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and French from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in Education from the Johns Hopkins University. She is delighted to work at Everfi as a product manager while paddle boarding and wheel throwing in her free time.
