Sherry Lachman is the founder of Foster America, a program she is developing with the Center for the Study of Social Policy to strengthen the pipeline of child welfare leaders. Previously, she served as a domestic policy advisor to Vice President Biden, a senior policy advisor at the Department of Education, a senior education counsel to Senator Al Franken, and an attorney at the Juvenile Law Center. She is a graduate of Columbia Law School and Harvard Kennedy School. Her commitment to improving government systems for children stems from her experience in foster care as a child.
