EVERFI CEO Tom Davidson, Metta World Peace, and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to receive 2022 Halcyon Awards

The annual awards hosted by D.C.-based nonprofit Halcyon honor trailblazers in business, arts and culture, and policy

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 11, 2022) On October 20 in Washington, D.C., Halcyon will present its annual Halcyon Awards to 2022 Business Luminary Tom Davidson, CEO and founder of EVERFI, 2022 Arts and Culture Icon Metta World Peace, a former NBA all-star and mental health advocate, and 2022 Policy Visionary the Honorable Muriel Bowser, mayor of the District of Columbia. The Halcyon Awards, launched in 2017, honor trailblazers whose achievements speak to the power of innovation and creativity in igniting change.

“The 2022 awardees represent a cross-section of inspiring trends we’re seeing this year,” said Kate Goodall, Halcyon Co-founder and CEO and co-manager of the Halcyon Fund. “With her win in the Democratic primary, Mayor Bowser is on track to become the first woman three-term mayor in D.C. history. As CEO of EVERFI, Tom Davidson has pioneered a path that’s influenced hundreds, if not thousands, of impact-oriented ed tech ventures. And Metta World Peace this year announced plans to raise a $1 billion investment fund. Together, they remind us that for true leaders, the sky is the limit.”

Davidson, Bowser, and Metta World Peace will all attend the awards ceremony, hosted at The Schuyler in Washington, D.C. In addition to the award presentations, the event will feature early-stage impact-driven startup founders who have participated in Halcyon’s fellowship programs. The event raises crucial funds to sustain Halcyon’s work accelerating the impact-driven future of business, while giving the next generation of leaders, and Halcyon’s community of supporters, a chance to hear from and spend an evening alongside the awardees.

Also in attendance at the event will be Halcyon supporters including the board of directors, honorary board, diplomatic committee, host committee, and guests thereof. Further attendees will include business leaders, long-time Halcyon donors, current fellows in Halcyon’s programs, recipients of investments from Halcyon’s impact funding vehicles, and other members of the Halcyon community.
