Africa Climate Fellowship (2024)
This program brings together founders from across Sub-Saharan Africa, empowering them to address climate challenges through Renewable Energy, Green Building, Climate Data, Agriculture, WaterTech, and Blue Economy solutions. Founders gain expert training, critical resources to accelerate your venture, a one-week in-person residency in Washington, DC, and a one-week in-person residency in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Africa Climate Fellowship is run with support from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Office of Global Partnerships at the U.S. State Department.

Solutions addressing climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience including but not limited to:
- Renewable Energy Generation and Storage
- Green Building Technologies
- Climate Data and Analytics
- Climate Smart Agriculture and Food Systems
- WaterTech
- Blue Economy
Program Structure
- Cohort of up to 10 ventures founded by entrepreneurs from across Sub-Saharan Africa, working in the climate space. Ventures receive training in Halcyon’s methodology on product-market fit, investment readiness, and leadership.
- Program is delivered through:
- One virtual kickoff meeting
- A one week residency in DC
- Monthly virtual meetings
- A one week residency in Nairobi
Timeline
- March 22, 2024: Application closes
- May/June 2024: Finalists invited to Virtual Pitch with Selection Committee
- June 2024: Selected fellows will be notified
- July 18, 2024: Virtual Kickoff Meeting
- July 29 – August 2, 2024: In-person residency in Washington, D.C.
- August 15, September 19, October 10, 2024: Monthly Virtual Meetings
- November 11 – 15, 2024: In-person residency in Nairobi
